Heal with Love

In Ayurveda, the root cause of so much disease comes from an abundance of dryness (Vata), and heat (Pitta). Do you know what else is associated with dry heat? Anger. Anger can show up on the mental, emotional & physical level. It’s acidic, dark and debilitating. What does this look like? Anger can look like anything from a skin rash to digestive disturbances to emotional paralysis.


To balance this, we seek out Sattva, which is associated with love & peace. This, too, can show up on the mental, emotional & physical levels. It’s alkaline, light and nourishing. So, the more you love, the more you are healing yourself and those around you. Do you remember what this looks like? Start by loving yourself; your body, your mind and your emotions. Also, love those around you. The more love you give, the more Sattva you get ... not just for you but for those around you.


Looking for more ways to boost your Sattva?

  • Eat foods that are fresh, organic and seasonal. They are full of prana (life force) and Sattvic.

  • Improve your digestion by cooking with spices like ginger, cumin, coriander, fennel and cardamom.

  • Get outside ... just being in nature will invite in Sattva.

  • Be around those who are positive and inspire you. Then, when you’re not, you will have enough in reserves to bring light to others.

This is a practice. Start with an intention and love your physical, mental & emotional effort along the way.
